It was still hot in Guancheng in October. Only morning and evening gave a hint of the coolness of late autumn.
After Hai Tong got up early and made
breakfast for her sister's family of three, she took her household
registration book and quietly left.
“From now on, we will have an AA system. Whether it's living expenses, a mortgage or car loans, we will have to pay AA! Your sister lives with us, we have to ask her to pay half as well. What's the point of giving two thousand yuan a month? What's the difference between that and living on nothing?”
This was what Hai Tong heard from her brother-in-law last night when her sister and brother-in-law were arguing.
She had to move out of her sister's house.
But to appease her sister, there was only one solution:
getting married.
She wanted to get married in a short period of time, but she
didn't even have a boyfriend. So, she decided to accept Grandma Zhan's request,
the old woman she accidentally saved, to marry Zhan Yin, Grandma Zhan's eldest
grandson, who had a difficult marriage.
Twenty minutes later, Hai Tong got off the bus at the
entrance to the Civil Affairs Bureau.
"Hai Tong!"
As soon as she got out of the car, Hai Tong heard a familiar
shout. It was Grandma Zhan.
"Grandma Zhan."
Hai Tong quickly walked over and saw a tall, stern, and cold
man standing next to Grandma Zhan. That man must be named Zhan Yin, the person she was going to marry today.
As she got closer, Hai Tong also saw Zhan Yin's appearance
clearly and couldn't help but feel amazed.
According to the Grandma Zhan's words, her grandson Zhan Yin
was already 30 years old and didn't have a girlfriend, so the old woman was worried.
Since then, Hai Tong always thought he was a very ugly man.
After all, she heard that he was also a senior executive of
a big company with a high income.
At this moment, when they met, she realized that she had misunderstood him.
It was because Zhan Yin was extremely handsome and had a cold temper. He stood next to Grandma Zhan with a gloomy face that looked very cool, exuding an aura that no stranger should approach.
Her gaze shifted slightly to see a black SUV parked not far away. The car's logo was Dongfeng, not a million-dollar luxury car, which made she feel that the distance between her and Zhan Yin was not too far.
She and her friend had opened a bookstore in front of Guancheng
Middle School.
In her spare time, she also knits some knick-knacks and
sells them online, which sell well.
She was able to earn more than 20,000 yuan a month. In Guancheng,
a monthly income of 20,000 yuan could get you into the white-collar class. So, she
gave her sister 5,000 yuan every month for her living expenses.
However, her brother-in-law did not know her income. It was because she had asked her sister to save 3,000 yuan and told her brother-in-law that she only had 2,000 yuan.
"Hai Tong, this is my eldest grandson, Zhan Yin, an old
leftover who can't sell out at thirty. Even though he is a bit cold, he is still very thoughtful and considerate. You saved my life and we have known each other for three months. Trust me, I won't introduce a bad grandson to you.”
Listening to his grandmother's description of him, Zhan Yin
looked at Hai Tong suspiciously. His eyes were deep and cold, but he did not say a word.
Perhaps because he had heard too many unkind words from his grandmother, he had become immune.
Hai Tong knew that Grandma Zhan had three sons and each of
the three sons gave her three grandchildren. She had a total of nine
grandchildren, but no granddaughter, so she treated her as a granddaughter.
Hai Tong's face flushed slightly, but she still gracefully
extended her right hand to Zhan Yin and introduced herself with a smile. "Hello, Mr. Zhan. I'm Hai Tong.”
Zhan Yin's sharp eyes looked at her from head to toe. It was only after his grandmother reminded him with a slight cough that he extended his right hand to shake Hai Tong's. His voice was also deep and cold. "Zhan Yin."
After shaking hands, Zhan Yin raised his left hand to look
at his watch and said to Hai Tong, "I'm very busy. Let's hurry up.”
Hai Tong nodded.
Grandma Zhan hurriedly said, "You two go inside and do the formalities. I'll wait
for you here."
"Grandma, get in the car. It's hot outside."
Zhan Yin said as he helped his grandmother into the car.
Hai Tong watched his behavior and believed Grandma Zhan's words. Zhan Yin was indeed a bit indifferent, but he was still considerate.
Even though she and Zhan Yin were strangers to each other, Grandma Zhan said that Zhan Yin had a house in his name and it was fully paid for. If she could marry him, she could move out of her sister's house and her sister could feel at ease because she would no longer have to fight with her brother-in-law because of her.
Her marriage was just living together.
Soon, Zhan Yin returned to Hai Tong's side and said to her,
"Let's go.”
Hai Tong hummed and silently followed him into the Civil
Affairs Bureau.
At the marriage registry office, Zhan Yin reminded her. "Miss Hai, if you don't want to marry, you can quit. No matter what my Grandma says, marriage is a serious matter. You shouldn't play around."
He had hoped that Hai Tong would retreat.
It's because he didn't want to marry a woman he had only met once.
